Well as long as EA keeps it’s greed out of the picture anyway. To sum up here, this game is a very well done remaster and really highlights the reasons why we need another Burnout game. There's a lot of them to complete and I personally found it too much of a hassle to bother. It was a very good concept but it usually ended up with people not following the tasks, not understanding them and generally ended up with a lot of downtime waiting and people leaving half way. I never really liked any of the freeburn challenges, like doing very specific tasks with random people online. It be hard not to say you will spend the majority of your time on exploration.

Full of shortcuts, stunts and unique locations. But the exploration of the world, smashing through gates and billboards, getting the fastest times on roads and racing around with your friends online is where the game really shines at its best here. They are incredibly overpowered and you will cheese the game. If you’re completing the events, try not to use the DLC vehicles straight off as you will break the games progression. The events are fun to do although a bit repetitive overtime. The detection between cars needs a little improvement but it’s mostly there, you will crash without knowing why quite a few times. The handling of the cars feels great, very fast paced but sometimes overwhelming if you’re using faster cars. I never played Burnout Paradise in 2008 so this was a new experience for me so to those few people similar to me, this review is for you.

Figuring out how to destroy billboards, or get to secret islands, or just discover new and interesting ways to beat your fellow drivers - it's a gas, gas, gas. But this has a lot of fun moments, and it is ten times the fun of any of the Need for Speed games. Trying to get the highest possible scores as I laid waste to every car/bus/truck I could destroy. The ones I'd play over, and over, and over, and OVER. This game lacks the all-out crash modes of old. And if they decided to redo Revenge I'd buy it (like this one) first day.

I loved and played the Burnout series for hundreds of hours back in the day. But ask yourself, when was the last time you had this much fun in a racing game? I'll tell you - 10 years ago. Are there times it feels a bit squashed and blocky, sure.

Are all of the animations/takedowns the latest polygon setup? Nope. But it also does some things that even newer games don't do as well.

I do know that in some ways it plays like an older game. So I can't compare it too much to the original. I only played this game once, at a friend's house, in another State. Still, if you need a fresh take on the genre, some of the "creative talent" behind Burnout released an all-new game, Dangerous Driving, earlier this month.Okay. As it stands, a decade-plus is probably a pretty good run for multiplayer support, and certainly outlasts a game like Driveclub, which won't even make it five years.

Of course, this is hardly a new issue - servers for Burnout Revenge came down before Paradise even launched and Burnout: Takedown went offline in 2010 - but sometimes we've seen it go the other way, like when EA unexpectedly reactivated multiplayer for Skate 3. There's still offline play, but getting every trophy, even using backwards compatibility, will be impossible unless you make the jump to the Remastered edition that launched last year for newer platforms.

Emails sent to players and a tweet from Criterion confirm that the game's servers - which have been in operation since it launched in 2008 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC - will shut down on August 1st. All good things must come to an end, and that includes multiplayer support for the original Burnout Paradise.
